coordinated services for people who are homeless or near-homeless

More than 360 Guests were served

on Thurs., March 12, 2009

by 250 staff at 77 vendors and more than 150 volunteers!

(41% of the Guests were homeless)

Our Local Event

Vanderburgh Homeless Connect 2009, sponsored by the Commission on Homelessness and other community partners, took place on March 12, 2009, at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Coliseum, and served 360 Guests.

People in our area who are homeless or near-homeless were invited and welcomed to the event. This day of services was shaped around the values of

	*Hospitality* from the whole community, with consumers as welcomed guests,
	*Immediacy*—same-day results for consumers (not simply referrals or information),
	*Community*—voluntary civic participation,
	*Partnership* across agencies and sectors of the community, and
	*Excellence* through rigorous evaluation and improvement.

Getting Involved

To donate funds to assist with services and supplies provided at the next event,

make checks payable to “Aurora, Inc.” (fiscal agent for Destination: Home),

designate "VHC" on the memo line, and
