Mission |
The Homeless Services Council of Southwest Indiana addresses the needs of homeless and near-homeless in Southwest Indiana and works to end homelessness in our communities. |
Core Beliefs |
We believe that addressing the needs of homeless/near-homeless persons is a community endeavor that requires the participation of the larger community, including homeless/near-homeless persons, agencies whose mission is to serve the needs of homeless/near-homeless persons, local governments, agencies serving the public safety, the corporate community, and representatives of foundations and other potential funding sources.
We further believe that every endeavor of this council shall be to serve the needs of the disadvantaged and otherwise marginally empowered persons. |
Purpose |
Having these beliefs, the Homeless Services Council of Southwest Indiana exists to provide an inclusive forum for the community to meet current needs while exploring and implementing permanent solutions.
To promote open communication in our endeavors, the Council shall seek regional representation from the homeless, formerly homeless, agency clients, and other community members, and shall also seek to include regional representatives from alliances and network organizations which exist to serve similar needs.
This Council operates according to By-Laws and signed Memorandum of Agreement. (See below.) |
