Provide crisis
counseling, information, referrals, legal options, and
support to rape and sexual assault victims, their families
and friends in the eleven counties Albion serves. |
 |
Provide support
on an on-call basis by telephone or in person at Albion,
hospital emergency rooms or law enforcement agencies. Pagers
are available |
 |
Commitment of 32
hours per month. Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday, 4
p.m. - 8 a.m., and 24 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday.
Each shift lasts for eight hours. |
 |
Approximately 18
hours of training is required. |
 |
Provide crisis
counseling, information, referrals, and support to victims
of domestic violence in Vanderburgh County. |
 |
Provide support
on an on-call basis by telephone or in person at Albion,
Evansville Hospitals, medical facilities or law enforcement
agencies. Pagers are available. |
 |

to 8 a.m., and 24 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday. |

Volunteer
advocates must live in Indiana and no more than 25 minutes
from Evansville. |

processes and options to victims of
domestic violence living in shelter and in Vanderburgh

Provide emotional
support and accompaniment to court
(civil or criminal proceedings), Prosecutors Office,
Attorneys’ offices,
or law enforcement agencies. |

Assist victims in
filing protective orders. |
 |
Volunteers are
needed Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. |
 |
Approximately 15
hours of training is required. |
 |
Assist the Child
Advocate with children’s groups, field trips, family
activities, and parties. |
 |
Participate in
reading stories, completing art projects and playing games.

 |
Provide positive
role model for children living in shelter. |
 |
Some childcare
experience is needed. |
 |
Criminal history
background check is required. |
 |
Volunteers are
needed primarily during the day on weekdays and occasional
evening hours. |
 |
Training hours
may vary according to activity. (4-20 hours of training is
required.) |
 |
Volunteers may
complete on or several of the following activities in
Crawford Dubois, Gibson, Harrison, Orange, Perry, Pike,
Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick Counties. |

Provide crisis
counseling, information, referrals, and support to victims
of domestic violence. |

Co-Facilitate
women’s and children’s support groups. |
 |
Distribute
posters and pamphlets throughout our service area. |
 |
Assist staff
members in educational presentations in schools or other
community organizations. |

Provide
transportation to shelter and support groups for victims in
counties outside Vanderburgh County. |
 |
Volunteers are
needed during the day and evening hours on weekdays and
weekends. |
 |
Training hours
vary according to activity. |

Answer crisis and
business telephone lines. |

Engage in crisis
counseling with shelter residents. |

Determine service
eligibility of callers seeking shelter. |

House Pin Coordinator -
Aurora uses
House Pins to raise awareness of
homelessness and as an on-going fund raiser. The House Pin Coordinator actively
looks for businesses, events and occasions to display house pins. If you are a
salesperson at heart, you can help Aurora find good homes for our House Pins. |

Miscellaneous assistance -
Aurora needs additional hands at various times throughout the
year. Tasks may include sorting donations, answering the phone, preparing
mailings, special events, picking up donations, raking leaves, snow removal,
etc. |
